The Fund aims at promoting sustainable development objectives and improving welfare and will support eight projects in areas such as: infrastructure; environment; science, technology and innovation; PPP’s; among other topics.
Colombian entities such as COLCIENCIAS, the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, INNPulsa, the Office for Public Sector Procurement and the Transparency Secretariat from the Presidency will be among the recipients of project funding.
The Fund will allocate more that £500,000 to projects that will address priorities of the Prosperity agenda defined by President’s Santos visit to the UK in November 2011.
The Prosperity Fund projects are:
Project 1: Public Private Partnership (PPP) capacity-building for the Colombian Government
Project 2: Facilitating the pre-qualification process for road concessions in Colombia
Project 3: Promoting Commercialisation of Science in Colombia
Project 4: Strengthening Colombia’s capacity to develop regional projects to exploit Colombia’s $5bn Science Technology and Innovation Fund
Project 5: Promoting best practice in public procurement process
Project 6: Promoting international best practice in the implementation of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention and the design and implementation of a High Level Reporting Mechanism to deal with allegations of solicitations of bribery and corruption
Project 7: Promoting low-carbon urban transport in Colombia
Project 8: Delivering Colombia’s OECD Environmental Performance Review
