Colombia’s Paralympic Team was officially welcomed into the Paralympic Village with a performance from the National Youth Theatre ahead of the Opening Ceremony of the Games on Wednesday 29 August 2012.
Led into the Village by Colombia’s First Lady María Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos, Chef de Mission Juan Pablo Salazar and Ambassador to the UK, Mauricio Rodríguez, the delegation was greeted by a lively show of music and dance inspired in the theatrical tradition of the UK.
The ceremony, conducted by Eva Loeffler, the Paralympic Village Mayor and daughter of Sir Ludwig Guttman, who began the Paralympic Movement at Stoke Mandeville hospital in 1948 praised the athletes and the Paralympic spirit.
